Mechanicsburg Toddler Crushed To Death By Hay Bale ID'd: Coroner Three days before his fourth birthday, a Mechanicsburg boy was crushed to death by a hay bale, authorities announced on July 13, 2023.  A large hay bale fell on 3-year-old Lincoln Nathan Johns at a farm on Davis Lane in Taylor Township on July 1, according to a Pennsylvania State Police on Thursday.  Troopers from McConnellsburg were called to Fulton County Medical Center at 10:57 a.m. They were informed the boy had died due to life-threatening injuries caused by the falling hay bale.  Lincoln's death has been ruled an accident caused by "multiple systems or organs failuring due to blunt …

Head-On Collision Kills Mercersburg Solider, Chambersburg Man, State Police Say A head-on collision has killed two people and sent another to an area hospital, according to a release by Pennsylvania state police on Tuesday, Feb. 7. Richard E. Cowan, 69, of Chambersburg, drove his 2015 Ford Transit over the center turning lane in the 8100 block of US 30/Lincoln Way slamming head-on into a 2019 Hyundai Accent, driven Maura J. Two Infants, Woman Killed, Six Hospitalized Following Crash At Pennsylvania-Maryland Stateline Nine people from Chambersburg were in a deadly single-vehicle crash near the Pennsylvania-Maryland Stateline on Sunday, Dec. 4, authorities say.  59-year-old Mary Gordon lost control of her vehicle and crashed her 2018 Dodge Journey into a tree in the 5900 block of Little Cove Rd. at around 1:56 a.m., according to Pennsylvania state police. She was airlifted and taken to WellSpan York Hospital where she died an accidental death caused by multiple blunt force injuries at 5:43 a.m., as certified by York County Deputy Coroner Kayla Starner.
