Officer Heading To Scene Struck — Lights, Sirens Were On, Police Say A police vehicle had light and sirens engaged when it was struck on Tuesday morning, the Susquehanna Regional Police Department announced that same afternoon.  The officer was heading to assist a fellow patrolman when he was struck at 1195 River Road at the intersection with Route 772 East Donegal Township, the department detailed in the release. It happened at 11:22 a.m. on Feb. 20.  No injuries were reported.  The Pennsylvania State Police is investigating the crash.

Convict, Wife Commit Armed Robberies Driving Getaway Car To Their PA Home, Police Say A convicted felon and his wife are in the Lancaster County Prison following a series of armed robberies across Lancaster County, police explained in a release on Tuesday, Nov. 28.  Former felon, Michael Allen Brown, 48, and his wife, Emily Ann Brown, 37, both of Marietta have been arrested in connection with the robberies of three gas station convenience stores in one day, according to the Susquehanna Regional police.  The first armed robbery set the standard for the day. 3.4+Mil Birds Have Avian Flu In PA: USDA Three commercial chicken farms in central Pennsylvania have confirmed avian flu in their birds totaling over 3,450,100 within the state, according to an updated release from the US Department of Agriculture. The infected birds are all egg-laying chickens and all three farms are located in Lancaster County, according to the release. The first confirmed case of avian flu in Lancaster County was at a Kreider Farms facility in East Donegal Township, and the farm destroyed nearly 1.5 million chickens in response to the diagnosis, according to Pennsylvania Agriculture Secretary Russell Redding. …
