A Cumberland County inmate who walked off during a work release assignment has been found and taken into custody, authorities announced.
Amanda Marie Baker, 40, left her assigned location at Dickey’s Barbecue Pit on the Carlisle Pike in Mechanicsburg around 4:45 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 29, 2025, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office. Officials said she was seen entering a vehicle before disappearing.

A Harrisburg man has been charged after allegedly exposing himself to a juvenile coworker in the stockroom of a store at Capital City Mall, Lower Allen Township police announced on Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2025.
Charles Vernard Terry, 27, reportedly asked a juvenile employee to help him in the stockroom of the mall on Friday, Dec. 13, 2024, at approximately 9:40 a.m., according to police.
While in the stockroom, Terry pulled down his pants, exposing himself to the victim, police said. He also made inappropriate sexual comments during the incident, authorities added.

A major gas leak that shut down the Camp Hill Shopping Center has been contained, and the area has now reopened, authorities announced.
The incident began at the shopping center on the 100 block of South 32nd Street in Camp Hill, Cumberland County, on Tuesday, Dec. 17 at 12:29 p.m., according to a release from Camp Hill police.
Emergency crews responded to a significant gas leak, forcing all stores to close and the public to avoid the area.
