Children found living in deplorable conditions prompted arrests of their parents on Thursday, Sept. 12, Mount Joy police announced.
Morris H. Hayes, Jr., 52, and Jessica E. Hayes, 44, both of the 100 block of South Barbara Street in Mount Joy, were charged with Endangering the Welfare of Children, the police said.

Captured: Norristown Police Nab Man Wanted In Machete Attack, Upper Merion PD Says
With help from Norristown police, a man wanted in a machete attack was taken into custody Wednesday morning, Sept. 11 without incident, authorities said.
Edward Gomery, 56, is suspected in "an aggravated assault involving a machete" on another man he knew on Aug. 27, Upper Merion police said on Monday, Sept. 9. The attack caused "significant injuries" to the victim, police said.
"Thank you to the Norristown officers and to everyone who submitted tips to assist us!" Upper Merion police wrote in a press statement Wednesday.

A convict was found with blood coming from his face in an Elizabethtown parking lot following two sexual assaults, borough police announced on Tuesday, Sept. 10.
Richard J. Copenhaver III, 29, of Mountville, was found in the 200 block of South Market Street in Elizabethtown Borough by Corporal Goshen and Officer John Stewart at 9:10 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 9, as detailed in a release.

A local government trash hauler was involved in a crash in which speeding was a factor, Pennsylvania State Police announced on Wednesday, Sept. 4.
Lanchei A. Williams, 45, of Philadelphia, crashed into a guardrail along the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Highway in Tinicum Township, Delaware County at about 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 3, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
Williams suffered minor injuries and was taken to Taylor Hospital, police said.

Allie McFadden Allegedly Killed By Chanise, Kyle Burton
The woman found dead following an assault at a husband and wife's apartment has been identified, by the Dauphin County Coroner on Sunday, Sept. 1.
Allie McFadden, 26, of York County, was killed in Kyle and Chanise Burton's apartment in the 100 block of Pine Street at 11 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 29.
The investigation revealed that the Burtons were responsible for her death, according to the police, and as Daily Voice previously reported.
