An Allentown dad pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter in the accidental shooting death of his 3-year-old son, Lehigh County District Attorney Gavin P. Holihan announced on Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2024. Jose Hilario Abreu, 29, admitted guilt to Involuntary Manslaughter of a Child Under 12 and Endangering the Welfare of a Child, both second-degree felonies, as part of a plea agreement. A 40-year-old woman was hospitalized after accidentally shooting herself in the chest early Sunday, May 12 in Philadelphia, police said. Police were called to the 1900 block of N. Croskey Street around 12:55 a.m., where the woman had suffered gunshot wounds to her chest before being taken to Temple University Hospital in a private vehicle, police said. Three-year-old Elijah Abreu Borgen accidentally shot himself with a gun that an Allentown man had stashed under the couch, according to the Lehigh County District Attorney's Office. A man was hurt after accidentally shooting himself in Collegeville Sunday, June 12, authorities said. Officers responding to the shooting report on Shelly Drive and Ruby Drive found a man with an accidental self-inflicted gunshot wound to the upper thigh, Collegeville Borough police said. A 4-year-old boy from Pittsburgh has died after shooting himself in the face, according to police. The boy was identified by family members to CBS2 as Ajani Lane. His mom, Nay Lane, mourned his loss on Facebook. Police were called to a home in the 500 block of North Negley in Pittsburgh’s East Liberty neighborhood around 8 a.m., according to a statement by the police. The boy was transported to UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh where he later died, police said. There was a caregiver present in the home at the time of the shooting, according to police.
