PA Man Charged With Raping Child Over Several Years: Police
A Pennsylvania man is accused of sexually abusing a child younger than 13 over several years, police said.
Dev Poudel, 50, of the 500 block of Wayne Drive in Mechanicsburg, was charged with rape of a child, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault of a child, indecent assault, corruption of minors, and endangering the welfare of children, Upper Allen Township Police said.
Police were notified Thursday, Sept. 10, about the reported abuse. Investigators determined the abuse occurred over several years, authorities said.

An adult son is charged with fatally shooting his mother’s boyfriend after intervening in an assault at their Pennsylvania home, authorities said.
Ryan James Yaindl, 26, of the 100 block of Spring Street, is charged with criminal homicide in the killing of 52-year-old Jason G. Derr.
Derr and Yaindl’s mother, who were both at the home at 185 Spring St., had been involved in a physical altercation Saturday morning, Sept. 12, according to Northampton County District Attorney Stephen G. Baratta.

A mother of four and grandmother of three was killed when an SUV struck her motor scooter from behind and fled in Pennsylvania has been identified, authorities and her family announced.
Angelica M. Rivera-Perez, 42, of Allentown, died from multiple blunt-force trauma, according to Lehigh County Coroner Daniel A. Buglio. Her death was ruled accidental following an autopsy on Monday, Sept. 14.

Horse Lover, Penn National Raceway Worker Dies After Head-On Crash: PA State Police
A 39-year-old horse lover and Penn National Race Course worker has died following a head-on crash, Pennsylvania State Police announced on Sunday, Sept. 13.
Melissa J. Risser, of Grantville, previously of Lebanon County, died at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center after the crash at Mountain and Firehouse roads in East Hanover Township, Dauphin County, on Sunday, Sept. 6, according to police and her obituary.
Risser was driving west on Mountain Road around 1:55 p.m. when her 2006 Toyota Scion crossed into the eastbound lane and struck a 2014 Ram 3500 head-on, police said.

A Pennsylvania businessman who previously went to federal prison for running a $3.4 million Ponzi scheme involving bogus jewelry deals has been sentenced again after defrauding investors out of more than $755,000, authorities said.

A New Jersey mom who once spent $27,000 to turn a Philadelphia lot into a Cinderella-style prom castle for her daughter has been sentenced to federal prison for a $535,000 pandemic-relief fraud scheme, the USDOJ Eastern District of Pennsylvania announced.
Treva Harris, 50, of Medford, was sentenced Friday, Sept. 11, to 12 months and one day in prison, followed by three years of supervised release, for bank fraud, U.S. Attorney David Metcalf announced.
