Pedestrian Struck, Killed In South Philadelphia: Police A 59-year-old woman was struck and killed by a vehicle late Wednesday, Aug. 7, authorities said. At 11:52 p.m., Philadelphia Police responded to an accident with injuries on the 5800 block of Broad Street in South Philadelphia East. A Subaru Ascent was traveling northbound on Broad Street when it struck a pedestrian who was attempting to cross the street, police said. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Her name had not been released as of press time.

Police Name ATV Rider Killed In Philadelphia Crash Authorities have identified the ATV rider who died in a North Philadelphia wreck on Thursday night, June 13.  Michael Anthony Pembleton was headed south on Broad Street when his ATV hit the passenger side of a Subaru near Westmoreland Street, PPD said.  Pembleton, 35, was taken to Temple University Hospital and pronounced dead around 9 p.m., city police said.  The driver of the Subaru remained on the scene and no arrests have been made, officials said. An investigation is underway.
