Tornadoes Possible, Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued For All Of NJ, Parts Of PA The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm watch for all of New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania to close out Memorial Day. The NWS said tornadoes, heavy rain, and wind gusts up to 65 mph were possible through 9 p.m. The first round of storms came early Monday morning, May 27.  National Weather Service As of press time, more than 600 Bedminster, NJ residents were without power, according to JCP&L. It was not immediately clear if that outage was caused by the storm, though. Triple Twister Touch Down: Tornadoes Confirmed By NWS In Pennsylvania Three tornadoes have been confirmed to have touched down in Central Pennsylvania on Monday, Aug. 7, the National Weather Service confirmed on Friday, Aug. 18, 2023.  According to NWS, the first tornado started near the south side of North Church Street in Black Rock around 5:02 p.m. and ended around 5:05 p.m. near Glenville Road. The EF1 tornado's 105 MPH winds damaged trees along its 75-yard path, NWS explained.
