Fugitive Brought Loaded Gun To Slate Belt Bar, Cops Say
A wanted man is in police custody for allegedly bringing a loaded firearm to a Slate Belt sports bar, authorities say. It happened on March 29 at 6:30 p.m., Slate Belt Regional police wrote in a statement. Officers were called to the Scorecard, 130 N. Broadway in Wind Gap Borough, after dispatchers were told a man brought a rifle into the bar. At the scene, police spoke with 32-year-old Salvatore Caroprese of Pen Argyl, who had "secured the rifle in his vehicle" when they arrived, according to the release. PA Woman Refusing To Drop Screwdriver Had Meth: Police
A Northampton County woman who refused to drop a screwdriver was arrested for having meth in her possession, authorities said. Just before 10 a.m. Sunday, Slate Belt police officers were called to a home on A Street in Wind Gap on a report of a "domestic in progress," where they discovered Margaret Newman, 47, who appeared to be "under the influence of a controlled substance," police said. After refusing to drop a screwdriver, Newman was subdued and taken into custody, according to police. Slate Belt Man Involved In Domestic Dispute Busted With Meth, Police Say
A Slate Belt man was arrested for methamphetamine possession by officers responding to a domestic dispute report last week, authorities said. Slate Belt Regional Police responding to the report on the 400 block of E. Main Street in Turkey Hill in the Borough of Pen Argyl found Johnathon M. Stevens, 33, to be under the influence of methamphetamine around 11:10 p.m. Oct. 21, the department said.
