Bill To Ban Declawing Cats Gains Steam in NY
New York is taking measures to become the first state to ban the declawing of cats. The state Senate passed several bills this week, including one bill that is popular among animal welfare advocates that would ban inhumane declawing of felines. Denver and several cities in California have already passed similar measures. The bill will now have to pass through a second committee before it moves forward to the Assembly. Is a fox or coyote the furry, four-legged new friend who has been making the rounds in backyards of residences in southern Westchester? The Tuckahoe Police Department issued an alert late last week, when what was described as "a large coyote or fox" was spotted in several backyards on Dante Avenue and Bella Vista Street, causing concern for some local residents. Alert Issued For Fox Sightings In Westchester
There has been a series of fox sightings in the area, leading to concerns for certain residents who spotted the animals. The Eastchester Police Department issued an alert this week following several reported sightings in the north end of town.
