Man Found Dead After Police Standoff In Westchester
A man who allegedly threatened an employee at a business in Westchester died following a standoff in which he fired shots at officers, authorities announced. Just before 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 13, officers were dispatched to 11 Livingston Avenue in Yonkers to check on the welfare of a man following a report that he had made threats to an employee of an insurance company. Police Rescue Woman After Car Crashes Into Lake In Westchester
A woman was rescued by a police officer who jumped into frigid waters after her vehicle drove into a Westchester lake. The incident began around 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 14, when Westchester County Police received a 911 call reporting a vehicle had driven into Woodlands Lake at V.E. Macy Park in Irvington, said Kieran O'Leary, spokesman for Westchester County. According to O'Leary, Sgt. Body Of Missing Man Recovered From Pond
New update: The body of a man who went missing on Long Island has been recovered. The body of Dennis Jones, 40, of Freeport was pulled from the Milburn Pond on the Baldwin/Freeport border on Saturday, Dec. 28, Nassau County Police said. He was pronounced dead at 4:21 p.m., according to police. Jones had last been seen at his residence in Freeport on Ray Street on Saturday, Dec. 21 at 7 p.m. The investigation into Jones' death is ongoing. Human Remains Found In Duffel Bag Outside Bank In Westchester
Police have launched an investigation after the discovery of a suspicious duffel bag outside a bank that had human remains inside. Members of the Yonkers Police Department responded to the Wells Fargo Bank on Odell Avenue shortly after noon on Monday, Nov. 19, where there was a report of a suspicious bag. Police said that upon arrival, members of the Emergency Service Unit found the bag on the west side of the building, near a dumpster. Kitten Stranded In Sewer Pulled To Safety After Good Samaritan Calls Police
A kitten's cry for help was heard by a Good Samaritan, and two police officers took over from there. Police were able to rescue the kitten stranded in a sewer early Saturday morning in Westchester. At approximately 8:30 a.m., the Good Samaritan was walking her dog and came upon the kitten in the area of 276 Riverdale Ave. in Yonkers. Members of the 3rd Precinct and Emergency Service Unit responded. ESU Officers Jamie Molina and Anthony Alaimo brought the kitten to safety. The feline is currently at the Yonkers Animal Shelter receiving attention.
