Man Slashes Victim’s Face, Damages Vehicle In NY: Police A violent altercation in the region has led to the arrest of a man accused of allegedly assaulting another man with a knife and causing extensive damage to his vehicle. According to Lt. Mark Johnston of the Village of Monticello Police, the incident occurred on Friday, Dec. 13, at 10 p.m. in the parking lot of the Stewart’s convenience store on Forestburgh Road.  Johnstone said the 38-year-old victim told officers he was putting air in his vehicle’s tires when he was approached by Miguel A. Gang Shooting In Region Not Targeted At Jewish Community, Police Say Police in the region are stressing that an alleged gang shooting along a busy roadway was not targeting the Jewish community in any way. The incident took place in Sullivan County around 11 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 22 in Monticello in the area of Forestburgh Road and Hamilton Road. A preliminary investigation shows that a man driving a vehicle on Forestburgh Road stopped, got out of his car, and exchanged gunfire with another person walking along the shoulder of the northbound lane of the roadway, said Lt. Area Man Charged With Using Knife During Domestic Incident, Police Say A man from the region was arrested for allegedly threatening a woman with a knife during a domestic violence incident. The incident took place in Sullivan County around 6:50 p.m., on Tuesday, Nov. 29 in Monticello. Anthony Ronald Torre, age 30, of Monticello was arrested by Monticello Police after police responded to the Sleepy Hollow apartment complex for a dispute that involved a Kabar-style knife, said Lt. Man Nabbed For Commercial Burglaries In Region, Police Say A man from the region was nabbed by police for the second time for allegedly committing commercial burglaries. Police Probe Whether Separate Shootings Within A Mile Are Related Police are investigating whether two shootings that occurred about seven hours apart less than a mile apart are related. They happened in Sullivan County on Friday, June 19 during the early afternoon and late evening in the Village of Monticello. The most recent incident occurred about 11 p.m. Friday.
