It happened on Monday, Sept. 23 at 8:10 p.m. in Franklin Square, Nassau County Police said.
According to detectives, the suspect, described as a 6-foot-2 white man, entered the shop located at 679 Franklin Ave. Once inside, he pointed a small dark handgun at a 35-year-old female customer, pushing and ordering her to the rear of the shop, behind the counter, police said.
The suspect then demanded a 21-year-old male employee open the register. After the employee complied, the suspect removed an undisclosed amount of cash and fled northbound on foot, according to police. No injuries were reported.
The suspect is described as approximately 40 years old with a regular build. He was wearing gloves, a black brimmed hat and had a stocking over his face.
