New Long Island Restaurant Cited For 'Solid' Lunch Specials, 'Reasonable' Prices
A new Long Island restaurant that invites diners to “experience the art of ramen” is earning high praise weeks into business.
Yayoi Ramen – located in Carle Place at 19 Old Country Road – opened in late June 2024.
Its menu boasts over a dozen varieties of ramen, including the Tonkotsu Ramen, made with chashu pork belly, minced pork, fish cake, a half-cooked egg, mushrooms, green onions, and black garlic oil.
Diners can also choose from several curry and donburi bowls, as well as stir fry plates, salads, and bento boxes.

Don’t let the name fool you; all body types are welcome at this new Long Island restaurant.
Fat Boy’s Burrito opened its latest store in Patchogue, at 74 East Main Street, on Tuesday, Aug. 20.
Founded in 2017 by Tony Othman, the fast-casual Mexican eatery specializes in “fat” burritos, as well as quesadillas, tacos, and street corn.
Customer favorites, according to Yelp, include the Fat Hawaiian Burrito – made with marinated steak, grilled pineapple shrimp, rice, arugula, salsa, onion strings, and Fat Boy’s sauce.

A new restaurant on Long Island promising a fresh take on Greek cuisine is off to a sizzling start.
Twisted Greek – located in East Northport at 1972 Jericho Turnpike – opened in late May 2024.
Its menu boasts a number of Greek-inspired offerings, including pork, chicken, or beef and lamb gyros with pita bread, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and tzatziki sauce.

A new ranking by CNBC has found that both New York and Massachusetts are part of the top 10 most expensive states to live in.
The CNBC report, which was published on Friday, July 12, used an index of prices for a broad range of goods and services, which was calculated by the Council for Community and Economic Research (C2ER), alongside housing affordability and the cost to insure a median-priced home, to determine the list of spendy states.
