Full Closures Planned For Portion Of Sunrise Highway
Scheduled highway closures could cause delays for Long Island drivers in the coming days.
In Suffolk County, all westbound lanes of Sunrise Highway (Route 27) are slated to close nightly in the town of Babylon beginning on Monday, July 22.
From 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., lanes will close Monday, July 22, Tuesday, July 23, and Wednesday, July 24 between exits 40 and 39. Closures will occur again on Thursday, July 25, and Friday, July 26, between exits 38 and 39.

Between Monday, May 6, and Friday, May 10, full overnight closures will impact the eastbound lanes of the Long Island Expressway in Huntington between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m.
Drivers are asked to plan for the following eastbound closures:
On Monday, May 6, and Tuesday, May 7, at Exit 49 (State Route 110)

Landmarks across New York will be lit up in orange on Wednesday, April 17, to honor state highway workers and encourage safer driving through their work zones.
Gov. Kathy Hochul announced that Monday, April 15 through Friday, April 19 is Work Zone Awareness Week, with the national theme of “Work zones are temporary. Actions behind the wheel can last forever.”

Closures Scheduled For Parkway On Long Island: Here's When, Where
For two days, both directions of a Long Island parkway will be closed for rehabilitation, transportation officials announced.
On both Monday, Feb. 19, and Tuesday, Feb. 20, the Loop Parkway in Hempstead will be subject to closure, the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) said.
The closures on Monday will last from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. During that time, lanes in both directions will be subject to intermittent closures at the drawbridge. Construction workers will be instructing drivers where to go in the event of a closure.
