NJ Man, 70, Sexually Assaulted Children In His Care, Lived In TN With Fake Name For 3 Decades
A North Jersey man sexually assaulted two children living under his care numerous times over the course of several years before fleeing to Tennessee and living under a fake identity for more than three decades, prosecutors said. Richard A. Ziegler, 70, was in Roxbury when he performed “multiple sexual acts” on two children who had been living under his care between Dec. 1, 1981 and May 31, 1987, Acting Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Roxbury Man, 82, Drowns After Falling From Lake Hopatcong Dock
A Morris County man drowned when he fell off a dock and into Lake Hopatcong Thursday evening, authorities said. The Roxbury man fell into the water shortly before 6 p.m. near King Road, township police said. King Road is located along the King Cove section of Lake Hopatcong. Mt. Arlington and State Police responded but were unable to revive the man, authorities said. The victim’s name was withheld pending notification of next of kin. This is a developing story. Friends of a Morris County man whose body was found hanged in a park last weekend are seeking justice. Morris County authorities said Friday they'd found no evidence of criminal wrongdoing to this point in the hanging park death of a 20-year-old Amani Kildea, of Long Valley. The body of a 68-year-old Morris county man was recovered from Crescent Cove in Hopatcong, hours after the boat he was operating capsized Wednesday, authorities said. Divers from the New Jersey State Police Dive Team recovered Curtis Mulch's body from the water sometime after 3 p.m., Trooper Alejandro Goez said. Mulch, of the Landing section of Roxbury, was pronounced dead just before 3:30 p.m., Goez said. A pair of Essex County Correctional Facility officers were charged with falsifying and tampering with records while working at the Newark jail, authorities said. Raymond Distasi, of Roxbury, and Quasi Cary, of Newark, both made false entries in the jail logbook indicating that they made made rounds in the jail that surveillance footage indicated that they did not make, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. The community is rallying for a Roxbury township employee mourning his daughter, who died recently at 28 years old. Kaitlynn LaBell of Mount Arlington passed away at St. Clare's Hospital Dover Campus on Dec. 19, surrounded by her family. Kaitlynn's father Paul LaBell is Roxbury's roads supervisor. A 28-year-old man died six days after his 69-year-old father of injuries sustained in a Roxbury car accident, authorities said.
