Oil Tanker Takes Down Hackensack Traffic Light An oil truck took down a Hackensack traffic light after crashing into a utility pole Wednesday. The Hackensack Fire Department responded to River and Passaic streets along with the Bergen County Signals Division to replace and remove the light. No injuries were reported.

The attendant at the Lukoil on the eastbound highway near the River Edge border doused the flames himself after the emergency cutoff switch engaged around 3 p.m. Wednesday, city firefighters said. Backhoe Falls Into Sinkhole While Repairing Hackensack Mall's Broken Pipe A backhoe working to repair a broken water main fell into a sinkhole in the parking lot at the Shops at Riverside in Hackensack Monday, authorities said. The mall had closed at approximately 1 p.m. to restore water to the facility.  The backhoe was digging to repair the broken water main when it fell in the hole, Hackensack Fire Captain Justin Derevyanik said. No injuries were reported.
