Mike Otto, 42, of Carteret, was charged with eluding, resisting arrest, obstruction, tampering with evidence, possession of CDS, possession of drug paraphernalia, and criminally under the influence, New Jersey State Police said in a release. Police: Newton Woman Arrested In Laptop Theft Had Hypodermic Needles, Pot A 31-year-old Newton woman was arrested on a warrant after police say she stole a laptop from a local home. Newton Police responded to a Pine Street residence on Saturday, Jan. 11 around 10 a.m. after on a report of potential theft of a laptop computer and cigarettes, the department said in a Facebook post. Jamie O’Dea, 31, of Newton, was identified as a possible suspect and was found on the same street a short time later, police said. Fair Lawn Police Pursuit Into Paterson Ends In Arrest A driver from Plainfield who was chased by Fair Lawn police after he fled a traffic stop Thursday morning was captured by Paterson officers, authorities said. Fair Lawn Officer Tiller Uriarte stopped a 2015 Chrysler van driven by Anthony Jenkins, 53, on Broadway at 29th Street around 10 a.m., Sgt. Brian Metzler said. Uriarte was returning to his patrol vehicle after an initial conversation when Jenkins hit the gas and took off, the sergeant said. The officer pursued him through Elmwood Park into Paterson, then broke it off out of safety concerns in the area of Sparrow Street, Metzler said.…

Montclair Man Awoken By Burglars At His House, Police Say Two men have been charged with burglary and other offenses after they broke into a Ferncliff Terrace home Monday morning, Montclair police said.  A man at the home was asleep when he heard a loud crash around 8 a.m., authorities said. When he investigated, he found a first-floor window smashed and saw two men on his porch.
