Mahwah Pool Filter Explosion Seriously Injures Worker From Hawthorne
UPDATE: A 32-year-old pool service worker from Hawthorne suffered a severe injury when a backyard filter exploded Wednesday afternoon in Mahwah, responders said. The victim was brought to St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center in Paterson with serious injuries after the 2:15 p.m. mishap on Eileen Drive near Darlington County Park, township Police Lt. Michael Blondin said. He was conscious but not alert with a traumatic head injury, responders said, adding that police escorted the ALS unit to the hospital. Worker Seriously Injured After Falling 20 Feet Onto Truck From Roof In Hawthorne
DEVELOPING: One person was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after falling approximately 20 feet from the roof of a Hawthorne home onto a truck parked in the driveway. Firefighters arrived at a Cornell Avenue home to rescue the victim from the truck, before being turned over to EMS and taken to the hospital around 7:50 Tuesday morning, initial reports say. It was unclear if the victim was a worker or a homeowner. This is a developing story. Check back for more.

SUV Smacks Into Hawthorne Office Building
A passenger had a bloody gash on his forehead after a driver smacked her SUV into a Hawthorne office building Tuesday afternoon. The vehicle continued up a low curb and through a row of bushes before hitting the Lafayette Avenue building, which houses doctors’, lawyers’ and other professionals’ offices.
