Man Fatally Shot In Newark: Prosecutors A 52-year-old Newark resident was fatally shot on Thursday, July 27, authorities said. At 6:11 p.m., police responded to a shooting on the 300 block of Wainwright Street and found Eddie Boykins suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II and Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. Boykins was pronounced dead at the scene, Stephens and Fragé said.
