': Bergen County Man Threatened Girl To Send Him Nude Pics, Authorities Charge
A 19-year-old Montvale man was arrested and charged with trying to blackmail a younger girl into sending him sexually explicit photos, authorities said. Cristian Lanius told the girl, 17, in February that he "already had other photos of her and would release them to followers of her Instagram page if she did not comply," Montvale Police Chief Joseph Sanfilippo said. An investigation by Detective Sgt. Andrew Fedick led to Lanius's arrest during a motor vehicle stop on Wednesday, March 23, the chief said. UPDATE: An extremely tense situation ended safely when police in Montvale seized two underage Rockland brothers who they said threatened passengers on a commuter bus with a fake gun and fireworks. Police stopped the Monsey Trails bus on Chestnut Ridge Road around 10 p.m. Thursday after receiving multiple calls that one of the Monsey brothers – ages 14 and 16 – pointed a pistol at fellow passengers, Montvale Police Chief Joseph Sanfilippo said. Arson Investigators Probe Post-Graduation Fire At St. Joseph's Regional HS Field
Authorities suspect a fire on the field where St. Joseph’s Regional High School in Montvale had held its 2021 graduation ceremony hours earlier was set. The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Arson Investigations Unit was investigating the fire along with borough police and the Bergen County Sheriff’s Bureau of Criminal Identification, which collected evidence.
