After being charged with second-degree disturbing human remains, 53-year-old Carlos Acevedo, of Camden, has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of Cathleen McGrath, Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. A 30-year-old man from Philadelphia has been charged in connection with an armed robbery at a South Jersey convenience store, authorities said. Jevonte F. Pressley is accused of firing a weapon at a store employee in West Deptford leading to charges of attempted murder, armed robbery, terroristic threats, theft and weapons offenses, according to the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office. Motorcyclist Dies After Passing Line Of Stopped Cars In South Jersey
A 61-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a crash with a pickup truck this week in South Jersey. Michael McCulley, 61, of Woolwich, was heading west on Mullica Hill Road in Harrison Township, when he passed westbound cars stopped at a red light around 4:15 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, local police said. McCulley went into the Lambs Road intersection and struck the passenger side of the pickup truck, which had been turning left from Mullica Hill Road east onto Lambs Road north. The truck driver was hospitalized for evaluation and McCulley was pronounced dead at the scene.

2,800 Bags Of Heroin Seized In Cape May County Arrest: Prosecutor
A 32-year-old man from South Jersey has been arrested for selling heroin, authorities said. Jorge A. Aviles, of Rio Grande, was charged with numerous drug and weapons offenses, according to Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey H. Sutherland and Chief Jennifer Pooler of the Middle Township Police Department. As part of a warranted search of Aviles' home on Route 47, about 2,800 bags of heroin were seized along with $753 cash and a dagger, Sutherland said. Aviles was being held in the Cape May County Correctional Facility.

A 34-year-old woman from South Jersey was indicted on 22 counts of animal cruelty, authorities said. Lourdes Martinez, of Galloway, was indicted by an Atlantic County grand jury on Tuesday, Oct. 10, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office. Martinez was arrested on July 22 when Galloway Township Police made a warranted search of her home after numerous complaints from neighbors about animals living in unsanitary conditions.
