'Fly' Dad Of 4 Killed In Atlantic County Shooting
Authorities have identified the 41-year-old man who was shot and killed in South Jersey. Police received a shot spotter call in connection with the incident at 914 North Main St. in Pleasantville, at 9:19 a.m. Saturday. Ivan Smith of Somers Point was found laying on a sidewalk with a gunshot wound, according to Acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Cary Shill. Medical personnel performed CPR, but they were unable to revive Smith, Shill said Smith was pronounced dead at the scene. Stolen Handgun, 250 Bags Heroin Recovered In Atlantic City
A 22-year-old man from South Jersey was arrested with a loaded handgun stolen from Virginia, authorities said. A 9-1-1 tip at 7:08 a.m. on Sunday sent Atlantic City patrol officers Christopher Dodson, Alberto Valles, Ahmed Waqar and Warren Young to the first block of south Florida Avenue. Surveillance Center personnel were able to direct the officers to Dupree Frederick, Jr., who was in the area and matched the description from the 9-1-1 caller, police said. Burglar Dies After Getting Trapped In NJ Italian Restaurant's Exhaust Fan
A burglar died after he became trapped inside of an exhaust fan at a New Jersey Italian restaurant Monday, authorities said. The incident occurred just before 10 a.m. at Two Brother's From Italy on W. White Horse Pike, police in Galloway said. There, officers found an unidentified white male who attempted to get inside the restaurant through a rooftop exhaust fan. During the attempt, the male became trapped within the exhaust fan and was unable to free himself. A South Jersey woman is facing charges in three different towns after abandoning several dogs in a forest and paying for parvo treatment using a stolen credit card, authorities said. Trouble for 45-year-old Jodi Wozniak began on Sept. 16, when five German Shepherd/Belgian Malinois were found in the woods near N. An Egg Harbor City man who last week was charged with the sexual assault of a 10 year-old girl during a 1996 home invasion has been accused of doing the same to a 5-year-old girl, authorities announced Wednesday. Brian Lee Avis, 59, of Egg Harbor City, broke into a Willow Avenue home in Galloway on July 18, 2003 around 11:45 p.m., and quickly left, Acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Cary Shill said. Police ID Motorcyclist Killed In Black Horse Pike Crash
A motorcyclist was killed in a weekend crash on the Black Horse Pike in Egg Harbor Township, authorities said. Joseph Seif III was heading east when he veered off the road near the Elmwood Avenue intersection Saturday around 2:35 p.m., Egg Harbor Township police said. Seif, of Galloway, struck a curb and overturned several times -- the motorcycle landing in the grass median. Seif was rushed to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. A GoFundMe account for the father of four had raised $4,400 as of Monday. The account was launched by his son.

'My 600-Lb Life' Star From NJ Dead At 30
A 30-year-old New Jersey woman who rose to fame on popular TLC show "My 600-lb Life" has died. Gina Marie Krasley, of Tuckerton, died at home on Aug. 1 surrounded by family, her obituary says. A Galloway native, Krasley loved to dance and had a passion for inspiring others on TikTok -- proving "dancing has no size limit," her obit reads. She hoped to one day open a dance studio for children with special needs. Services will be held on Aug. 8 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Maxwell Funeral Home in Little Egg Harbor.

Pedestrian, 58, Struck, Killed Crossing South Jersey Highway
A 58-year-old pedestrian died on Sunday after being hit by a car while crossing a highway in Atlantic County, authorities said. A motorist from Galloway was driving a 2008 GMC Envoy west on Route 30 just after midnight when he reportedly struck Christopher Burtt of Massachusetts, according to Absecon police. Burtt reportedly was crossing at Absecon Highway (Route 30) and Station Avenue when the fatal crash occurred, police said. Human Remains Found In South Jersey Woods
Human remains were found earlier this week in a wooded area in South Jersey, authorities said. A nearby resident stumbled upon the skeletal remains believed to be of a male, in the woods, according to Galloway police. The call came in about 8:40 a.m. Monday at 187 South Pomona Road in Galloway Township, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner said. An autopsy has been completed and the results are pending. A neighborhood report of a child abduction in South Jersey turned out to be false, authorities said.
