Longtime City Official In Westchester To Retire After Decades-Long Run
A city official in Westchester who has served more than three decades announced his intention to step aside and retire at the end of the year. Chuck Strome III, who has been the New Rochelle City Manager since 2002, announced to the City Council that he plans to retire, staying with the city through Dec. 31, 2022, to assist with the transition. First Bike-Sharing Program Launched In Westchester
It’s official! New Rochelle has Westchester County’s first bike-sharing program. Following a soft launch in March, officials in New Rochelle officially kicked off the program on Friday with a maiden voyage from City Hall to Anderson Plaza to mark the official launch of the county’s first such program. The Bike Share includes 100 bicycles at 11 locations throughout the city for local residents to use at their leisure. New Rochelle City Council Moves Forward With Ambitious City Yard Relocation
The New Rochelle City Council has unanimously agreed to move forward with the proposed new Public Works Operation Center. City officials announced this week that they have reached the agreement to construct the new Public Works Operations Center - more commonly referred to as City Yard - in the ground level of the busy Home Depot/Costco complex at Nardozzi Place. Under the terms of the agreement, a private developer will construct a 245,000-square-foot commercial structure, then lease 130,000-square-feet at the ground level for city use.
