ID'd Released For Man Found Dead At Metro-North Station In Area A man whose body was found under the Springdale train station platform in Stamford has been identified as a New Canaan resident. Stephen Sugrue, 65, was found under the platform late Saturday afternoon, Dec. 29, according to Metro-North officials. The cause of death is pending results the Medical Examiner's Office. MTA police are investigating the circumstances surrounding his death. Sugrue's death was the second death of a New Canaan resident near the tracks. John Hickey, 50, was killed on Dec. 13, 2018, by a train between the Darien and Noroton Heights stations.

The incident occurred around 1 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 29 in Buchanan on Albany Post Road (Route 9A) between the railroad bridge and Bleakley Avenue near the Peekskill border. Officers from the Buchanan and Westchester County police departments, along with MTA Police, responded.
