New Superintendent To Take Command At District In Westchester After an extensive search, a school district in Northern Westchester has named its next superintendent.  Duncan Wilson has been selected as the new Superintendent of the North Salem Central School District and will take over the position on Saturday, July 1, district officials announced.  Wilson will take over the position from Ken Freeston, who will be retiring at the end of the school year.  Wilson comes to North Salem from the Ardsley Union Free School District, where he was assistant superintendent. Staffer Fired For Meeting With Teen Girl Leads To 'Witch Hunt,' Westchester BOL Chair Says The Chair of the Westchester County Board of Legislators is responding to calls for her resignation after a county staffer was fired for attempting to meet up with a 14-year-old girl.  The former legislative staffer, identified as Anand Singh, was fired on Thursday, April 13 after a video surfaced of him allegedly driving hours to try and meet up with a 14-year-old girl, according to the Westchester County Board of Legislators.  The incident is now under investigation by the FBI Safe Streets Task Force, Board of Legislators Chair Catherine Borgia said in a statement on Tuesday, April 18.  …

Hackley School Graduate Who Was All-America Collegiate Athlete Dies At Age 48 A Northern Westchester native who was a standout athlete in both high school and college has died. Alison Relyea, who grew up in Briarcliff and graduated in 1992 from the Hackley School in Tarrytown, was 48 years old, according to her obituary. She died on Wednesday, Oct. 12 at Evelyn’s House hospice facility in Creve Coeur, Missouri. For the past 11 years, she lived in Chesterfield, Missouri, her obituary said. The crash on Saturday, June 8 caused the hourslong closure where Routes 9 and 9A merge near the Croton River Bridge in Ossining.
