Man Charged With DWI On I-87 In Tarrytown Still At Large 10 Years Later

TARRYTOWN, N.Y. - More than a decade later, the New York State Police remain on the lookout for a man who was stopped for driving while intoxicated on the Thruway and never appeared in court to pay for his crime.

Jamie Alvarez, 38, is wanted by the New York State Police on a bench warrant for failing to appear in court after he was stopped for a traffic violation and discovered to be operating the vehicle while intoxicating in 2006.

According to police, Alvarez was stopped by a trooper while driving on the New York State Thruway on June 26, 2006, and during the course of the investigation, it was revealed that Alvarez was under the influence.

Alvarez is described as a Hispanic male, who stands at 5-foot-5, weighing 175 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. Anyone with information about his whereabouts are asked to contact police and warned “not to take any police-action” themselves.
