It happened on Tuesday, March 12 in North Lawrence, according to Nassau County Police. Just before 6 p.m., 44-year-old William B. Foster walked into the Marshalls located at 345 Rockaway Turnpike. The loss prevention officer at the store reportedly recognized Foster from a previous theft at the store and contacted the police. Fatal Hit-Run Crash: Person Struck Near Long Island Intersection Police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash that happened overnight near a Long Island intersection. It happened around 11:20 p.m.  Wednesday, July 12 in North Lawrence when a male pedestrian was struck by a vehicle traveling on Rockaway Turnpike in the vicinity of East Avenue, Nassau County Police said. The vehicle then fled the scene. The male victim suffered severe trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been released. The investigation is ongoing. Watch: Burglar Smashes Way Into Long Island Business Before Fleeing With Cash Police are asking for the public’s help after a man smashed his way into a Long Island business before fleeing with a wad of cash. The break-in occurred at around 3:40 a.m. Monday, Feb. 13, in North Lawrence, at Ahuva’s Grill on Rockaway Turnpike, according to Nassau County Police. Surveillance footage shows the suspect either shooting or using a tool to break a front window before entering the business. Two Arrested For Stealing From FedEx Dropbox On Long Island, Police Say Two men have been arrested in connection with allegedly committing multiple larcenies from a FedEx dropbox on Long Island. Nassau County Police said the two men were arrested for the larcenies that took place around 5 p.m., Wednesday, June 10, in North Lawrence.
