The incident occurred on Thursday, June 1 at 9 a.m. in Garden City Park. Alif Chowdhury, aged 33, approached a 44-year-old woman walking on Fourth Street with a badge, claiming he was a police officer. Chowdhury reportedly began yelling at the woman, then grabbed the phone out of her hand and attempted to restrain her. The woman was able to flee the scene and contacted the authorities. Joseph Nesto was arrested following an incident with a neighbor in East Meadow at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 30 on 2nd Street.
