Amityville Man Sexually Abused Underage Niece Over 3-Year Period, Jury Finds A jury has convicted a Long Island man of repeatedly sexually abusing his underage niece over a period of years. The 42-year-old Amityville man, who prosecutors are not naming to protect the victim’s identity, was found guilty on child sex crime charges in Suffolk County Court on Thursday, July 20. According to the DA’s Office, the defendant repeatedly touched the girl’s breasts and vagina during family visits between 2013 and 2016, beginning when the girl was 9 years old.
