Officers responded to the Nassau BOCES Rosemary Kennedy Center on North Jerusalem Road in Wantagh shortly after 11:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 4, where there was a reported suspicious incident involving an arrow that nearly missed a woman.
According to police, an employee at the school was walking into the building when an arrow flew past her head.
No injuries were reported.
A subsequent canvas of the area led to the arrest of Francis Drive resident Thomas Albanese, who said that he fired the arrow while practicing archery in his backyard.
He was arrested without incident.
Albanese was charged with second-degree reckless endangerment.
He was scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday, Oct. 5 at First District Court in Hempstead.
