ID Released For Woman Killed In Head-On Capital Region Highway Crash
Authorities have identified a woman killed in a head-on highway crash in the region that left another man injured. The Albany County wreck happened just before 7 a.m. Wednesday, May 1, in Bethlehem, on State Route 85 near the Albany city limits. Bethlehem Police said a 28-year-old Saratoga County man from Clifton Park was driving westbound on Route 85 when he crossed over the center line and struck an eastbound vehicle. Capital Region Man Hospitalized Following Head-On Collision In Berkshire County
A 28-year-old and 72-year-old man were rushed to the hospital Sunday afternoon, March 24, after they collided in a Berkshire County crash, authorities said. Police were called to Dan Fox Drive near the Bousquet Ski Area just before 12:45 p.m. to a head-on crash between a 2004 Chevy TrailBlazer and a 2023 Kia Telluride, Pittsfield police said. 2 State Troopers Hospitalized After I-90 Capital Region Crash
Two New York State Police troopers were seriously injured after a weekend crash. It happened around 2 a.m. Saturday, March 23, in Rensselaer County on I-90 in the town of East Greenbush. An investigation determined a tractor-trailer struck the vehicle that the two troopers were in from behind. The troopers were at the scene after responding to an earlier crash. Both troopers were taken to Albany Medical Center with serious injuries, were treated, and have since been released. 32-Year-Old Killed In Single-Vehicle Crash In Capital Region
A 32-year-old man was killed in a late-night crash in the region. The Saratoga County incident happened at around 1 a.m. Friday, March 8, in the town of Greenfield on South Greenfield Road. Sheriff’s officials said Justin Germain, of Greenfield, was driving a 2006 Ford pickup truck when he lost control on a curve. The vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. A 42-year-old man was killed during a crash between two tractor-trailers in the Hudson Valley. The collision occurred in Orange County around 12:10 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 10 on I-87 between Exit 17 in Newburgh and Exit 16 in Harriman. A preliminary investigation determined that a 30-year-old Albany man was operating a Peterbilt tractor-trailer southbound on I-87 when he sideswiped a Volvo bobtail tractor which was stopped on the right shoulder of the roadway, said New York State Trooper Tara McCormick. 39-Year-Old Killed In 2-Vehicle Crash On Capital Region Highway
A local motorist was killed when he collided with another vehicle on a highway in the region. The Rensselaer County crash happened just before 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, in Sand Lake, on Route 150, according to New York State Police. Troopers said Steven Zipkin, age 39, of the town of Nassau, was passing several cars on his motorcycle in the southbound lane when he struck a vehicle entering the roadway. Zipkin suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said. Nobody else was injured in the wreck. The incident is under investigation by State Police.

Man Charged In Fatal Hit-Run Crash On Thruway
More than a month after an Albany man survived a head-on crash with a tractor-trailer on the New York State Thruway only to later be killed by a hit-and-run driver, police have made an arrest. Ardit Lleshi, age 25, of Garfield, New Jersey, was taken into custody on June 30 in connection to the death of 48-year-old Michael Tran, according to New York State Police.
