House Fire Breaks Out In Putnam County All hands were on deck as fire crews battled snowy conditions when a house fire broke out in the area. Crews from the Mahopac Falls Fire Department were dispatched to a residence near the area of Barrett Hill Road and Varna Lane in Carmel shortly before 1:15 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 15 when neighbors reported smoke coming from the home.
