Retired Sergeant, Former Youth Coach In Port Chester Dies A retired police sergeant who served a village in Westchester for close to four decades is being remembered for his lifelong dedication to the youth of his community.  The death of retired Youth Sgt. Rocco Plateroti was announced by the Port Chester Police Department on Wednesday, Jan. 17 in a post on social media.  Plateroti served the village of Port Chester for 36 years before retiring, the department said.  During this time, he became known for his willingness to help the village's youth, becoming both a mentor and a coach.  He was also often seen at Port…

Youngster Rescued From Underneath Vehicle After Crash Next To Port Chester High School A young victim had to be rescued from underneath a vehicle after they became trapped as the result of a two-car crash next to a high school in Westchester. The incident happened on Wednesday, Nov. 22 just after 12:15 p.m., when a two-car crash occurred at Port Chester High School at the corner of Neuton Avenue and Hillcrest Avenue, according to the Port Chester Fire Department. Arriving first responders soon found that the crash had happened next to the school auditorium entrance and that two people were still in one of the vehicles. Port Chester High School Latino Club Raises Money For College Scholarships Port Chester High School's Latinos  Unidos Club held its fourth annual fundraising dinner on Thursday, May 3. The aim, according to PCHS teacher and club advisor Rosa Pena is to raise college scholarship money. Pena cited the strong support from the Port Chester community.
