Westchester native Richard Roundtree, who was known for portraying John Shaft in the popular "Shaft" film series and broke ground as one of the first Black action heroes, has died after a battle with cancer.

New Update: Police ID 20-Year-Old Victim Of Hudson Valley Crash
Police have identified the 20-year-old Westchester man who was killed in a violent crash that left his passenger in critical condition.
The crash took place around 11:40 p.m., Monday, July 3 at 1420 West Boston Post Road (Route 1) in the town of Mamaroneck.
The driver who was killed was Anthony Diosdado, a resident of New Rochelle.
The front-seat passenger, Andy Romeo Fuentes, age 18, also of New Rochelle, remains in critical condition at Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx, said Capt. James Maher, of the Town of Mamaroneck Police.

A lucky Westchester County resident has claimed a $1,000,000 second-place Powerball Prize.
The New York Lottery announced on Friday, May 5 that Everald Anderson matched the first five Powerball numbers drawn on Monday, Sept. 12, 2022.
The winning numbers were 06-14-16-34-66 with the Powerball number of 25.
Anderson received a single lump sum payment of $651,004 after the required withholdings, the NY Lottery said.

Woman Driving Under Influence Resists Arrest In Hudson Valley, Police Say
A Fairfield County woman driving under the influence in Westchester was taken into custody after resisting arrest following a traffic stop, according to authorities.
At around 10:20 p.m. on Friday, March 31, New York State Police troopers stopped a vehicle on I-95 in New Rochelle for a vehicle and traffic violation.
