Here's Percentage Of New Yorkers Worried About Becoming Crime Victims, New Poll Finds
More than half of New Yorkers fear they may become a victim of a crime, a new Siena College poll finds. The poll, released Wednesday, July 12, found that 61 percent of state residents are either very (21 percent) or somewhat (40 percent) worried about becoming a crime victim. Researchers also found that 51 percent of New Yorkers have been worried about their safety, or their family’s safety, in public places. Brand-New Poll Reveals Shift In NYers' Consumer Sentiment
New Yorkers are feeling more optimistic about the economy, according to a new Siena College poll released Wednesday, Sept. 14. The New York State Index of Consumer Sentiment was up 9.1 points to 70.8 in the third quarter of 2022, the poll found. That’s 12.6 points above the nation’s Index of 58.2. The current index rose nearly 12 points from the previous quarter to 64.1 and the future index increased nearly eight points from 67.6 to 75.2, researchers found. If you’ve been feeling the pinch at the gas pump or grocery store lately, you’re not alone, according to a new poll from the Siena College Research Institute (SCRI). Pollsters found that 69 percent of New Yorkers said that current gasoline prices are having a very serious or somewhat serious impact on their financial condition. Researchers have reported the findings of a new poll about the adjustments New Yorkers plan to make to their lifestyles in response to inflation. The Siena College Research Institute published the findings of an economic impact survey conducted in March. Researchers found that 26 percent of respondents said inflation is having a very negative effect on their personal finances, and 44 percent said it is having a somewhat negative effect.
