Man Pleads Guilty In Connection With Death Of Toddler Son In Westchester
The 35-year-old father of a toddler who was found beaten and unresponsive in a Westchester apartment last year has admitted to his role in the death of his 2-year-old son. Mount Vernon resident Lloyd Scott pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter and is expected to be sentenced to 21 years in prison followed by five years post-release supervision when he is sentenced in December. A 28-year-old man is facing life in prison for allegedly killing a homeless woman whose body was found outside the former historic Armory building on Main Street in New Rochelle. Jose Olmos, who is homeless, was arraigned this week on murder charges for allegedly beating Nurten Jeljuk on Friday, July 27. Jose Olmos was arraigned on Monday for murder after the body was found in the driveway of the building on Friday morning. An autopsy performed by the Westchester County Medical Examiner’s Office has determined that the toddler who was killed by his father earlier this week died from blunt force trauma to his body. Nearly 15 years later, New York State Police investigators continue searching for clues regarding the homicide of a SUNY Orange County Community College student.
