New Rochelle Sailfish Swim Team Schedules Tryouts

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- The New Rochelle YMCA Sailfish swim team will hold tryouts for potential new members between the ages of 6 and 17 on Wednesday through Friday from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

The New Rochelle YMCA Sailfish swim team is a year-round swim club. Members of the Sailfish live in New Rochelle, Mount Vernon, Pelham, Mamaroneck, Larchmont and the Bronx.

Sailfish practices are held seven days a week using a split squad schedule.

Swimmers on the team "obtain the skills to compete, as well as thorough knowledge of swimming mechanics, stroke efficiency, and race strategy," according to the Sailfish website.
