Nassau County Executive Declares State Of Emergency As Covid-19 Cases Jump To 48 Nassau County Executive Laura Curran declared a state of emergency as the number of confirmed coronavirus cases jumped from 41 to 48. Curran announced the declaration early on Friday, March 13, which will permit her office to take emergency actions and increase spending to help contain the spread of COVID-19 on Long Island.
