Off-Duty Nypd Officer Takes Own Life In Queens An off-duty NYPD sergeant shot and killed himself at his Queens home, marking the 10th NYPD officer to do so this year. "Tragically, last night we lost another member of our NYPD family to suicide," said NYPD Police Commissioner James P. O’Neill.
