ID Released For Man Killed After Being Struck By Car On Long Island Roadway
The identity has been released for a man who was struck and killed by a driver on a busy Long Island roadway, police said.
Ridge resident Michael Leithe, 34, was driving a 2012 Kia Sorento westbound on Route 25, east of William Floyd Parkway in Ridge, when the vehicle struck the pedestrian in the roadway at approximately 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 17, Suffolk County Police said.
The victim, now identified as James Kearns, 46, of Ridge, was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s Office.

It happened on Friday, March 6 at approximately 6:35 p.m. in Central Islip.
Suffolk County Police Third Precinct officers responded to Hawthorne Avenue, just north of Storey Avenue, in response to a multi-vehicle crash.
An unknown vehicle struck a pedestrian, identified as Terrance Tuffini, of Central Islip on Hawthorne Avenue and fled the scene, according to police.

A 66-year-old man was killed when he was struck and killed by an SUV on Long Island.
The crash happened on Tuesday, Aug. 27 at 4:40 p.m. in Massapequa, Nassau County Police said.
According to detectives, while on his bicycle traveling northbound on Oakdale Avenue at the intersection of Linden Street, the victim was involved in a collision with a 2011 Honda Pilot, police said.
The Honda was heading westbound on Linden Street and was being operated by a 69-year-old male, according to police.

ID Released For Woman Struck, Killed By Car On Old Country Road In Plainview
The identity of the 80-year-old woman who was killed after being struck by a car while crossing Old Country Road in Plainview has been released.
The incident happened just after 5 p.m.on Thursday, July 11, Nassau County Police said.
According to detectives, the woman, now identified as Annette Katz of Naples, Florida, was hit by a 2017 Hyundai, which was traveling westbound. She was pronounced deceased at the scene by a Nassau County AMT.
The driver of the vehicle, a 66-year-old male, remained at the scene and was not injured. The vehicle was impounded for a safety check.
IDs Released For Two Victims Of Triple-Fatal Crash Involving Three Women
The identities of two of the three women killed in a fiery single-vehicle crash on Long Island have been released.
The crash happened around 11 p.m., Monday, July 8 in Mount Sinai when the 2010 black Jeep Liberty left the roadway and hit a utility pole, causing it to fall on the driver's side, and burst into flames, said the Suffolk County Police.
The two victims ID'd are Dorien Lashea Brown, 23, of Mount Sinai, and Rebecca Minunno, 24, of Hampton Bays. The identity of the third woman is pending, police said late Wednesday morning, July 10.

A 60-year-old man was hit and killed by a vehicle while attempting to cross a roadway in Wantagh.
The incident took place around 11:57 p.m., Saturday, April 20, on Sunrise Highway in Wantagh, said Nassau County Police Det. Gary Ferucci.
