The work is scheduled in Suffolk County on Sunrise Highway (Route 27) in the Town of Babylon and the Long Island Expressway (I-495) in the Town of Brookhaven. Two New Cases Of West Nile Virus Reported On Long Island Two new cases of West Nile virus have been confirmed on Long Island, according to the Department of Health. Suffolk County Commissioner of Health Services Dr. Gregson Pigott reported this week that two additional cases of West Nile virus in Suffolk County, bringing the total to seven over the course of the year. New York State Police said the crash happened around 3:15 p.m. Monday, July 12 in Suffolk County, on the Southern State Parkway, east of Exit 38 in the Town of Babylon. A Jeep Grand Cherokee and a Range Rover were driving east erratically, and both vehicles attempted to pass between two other vehicles, a Toyota Prius and a Mitsubishi Outlander, which caused the crash, according to state police.
