Know Him? Man Attempts To Steal From Long Island Saks Fifth Avenue, Police Say Police on Long Island are asking the public for help identifying a man who allegedly threatened a store employee and attempted to steal clothing. The incident occurred on Monday, Nov. 13, in Huntington Station at the Saks Fifth Avenue store on Walt Whitman Road. Police said the man attempted to steal the clothing and was stopped by a store employee whom he threatened with a knife. The man then dropped the clothing and fled in a black Nissan Sentra, police said. Brent Carter, of Las Vegas, pleaded guilty to conveying a hoax and false information in federal court in Albany Friday, Jan. 13. Police Investigate Threat Against Jewish Community Center In Lawrence Police are investigating after a threat was made against a Jewish community center on Long Island. Just before 6 p.m. Sunday, May 15, someone called 911 reporting a threat against the members of the JCC of the Greater Five Towns on Central Avenue in Lawrence, according to Nassau County Police. Officers conducted a “thorough and systematic search” of the building, but found no indication the threat was credible, police said. The building was deemed safe and reopened a short time later. Know This Vehicle? Police Searching For Men Who Stole From Nassau Market Police are investigating a robbery of a Long Island market in which an employee was threatened. The incident took place around 8:40 a.m., Friday, Dec. 25, at the Bolla Market, located at 2155 Linden Boulevard in Elmont, said the Nassau County Police. According to detectives, two men entered the market and approached the beer section. Each man grabbed four cases of beer and exited the store without paying, police said.
