Man Killed In Overnight Fire At Long Island Home A man has been found dead hours after a fire tore through a Long Island home. Firefighters were called at around 4:40 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 26, for a fire at a Melville house located on Wilmington Drive near Westbourne Lane. Nearly 100 firefighters from multiple departments spent two hours working to get the fire under control, officials said. Flames eventually spread to much of the home, causing its roof to collapse. First responders in Nassau County were dispatched to a 7th Street home in East Meadow at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 6, when a house fire broke out that left two homes with damage.
