Police say a man, pictured above, stole cash and a debit card from a wallet belonging to an employee at North Country Gas (105 Main Street) on Friday, July 19. Later that day, the man attempted to use the debit card to purchase gift cards at Target (255 Pond Path in Setauket), but the purchase was declined, according to police.
