Barricaded Suspect Apprehended After Standoff, Machete Stabbing At Long Island Residence A barricaded suspect was apprehended following an hours-long standout after he allegedly stabbed another man with a machete. Just before 3:10 p.m. on Friday, April 19 officers responded to a residence in Riverside after receiving a 911 call reporting a man was assaulting another man with machete, according to Southampton Town Police Detective Sgt. Lisa Costa. Upon arrival, police found a 24-year-old man covered in blood suffering from a head wound. Police tended to his wound until Flanders Ambulance arrived and transported him to Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead. …

Mack Truck Hits BMW, Home On Long Island, Police Say A 10-wheel Mack truck struck a BMW before hitting and damaging a home on Long Island. The incident took place in the hamlet of Riverside around 10:45 a.m., Monday, July 25 on Riverleigh Avenue. The driver of a 2022 BMW stopped on Riverleigh Avenue to a make right turn on Pine Street causing the driver of the 2018 Mack truck to make a quick decision to go to the right of the BMW, striking the car and continuing until it struck the home, said Lt.
