Republican Marc Molinaro On Track To Win In NY’s 19th District (Developing)

Republicans appeared poised to win in New York’s 19th Congressional District, with Marc Molinaro seemingly on track to defeat Democrat Josh Riley early Wednesday, Nov. 9.
Molinaro, the Dutchess County executive, was leading Riley by 2.2 percentage points, 51 to 49 percent, as of early Wednesday morning, Nov. 9, with more than 95 percent of the votes in.
The 19th Congressional District includes the counties of Columbia, Delaware, Greene, Otsego, Schoharie, Sullivan, and Ulster, as well as portions of Broome, Dutchess, Montgomery, and Rensselaer counties.

NY Sees New Increase In Flu Cases: Here Are Counties Most Affected
With all eyes concentrating on the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, flu season has quietly snuck up on New Yorkers, where flu is being categorized as "widespread."
In the latest update from the Department of Health, New York recorded 1,133 cases of influenza out of more than 46,000 tests that were conducted, marking the “second week that widespread activity has been reported following one week of regional activity.”
According to health officials, 47 counties reported cases of influenza, with just one having none.

A State of Emergency has been declared for 24 counties in New York State as Hurricane Henri threatens to make landfall on Long Island Sunday morning, Aug. 22.
The storm, which is expected to be near hurricane strength when it makes landfall, is forecast to affect coastal areas with dangerous storm surge, as well as heavy rainfall, dangerous surf conditions, and widespread power outages.

Severe Thunderstorm Watch In Effect For Parts Of Region With Strong Winds, Tornadoes Possible
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has now been issued for parts of the region.
It lasts until 11 p.m. Monday, June 21, and covers Dutchess, Ulster, Sullivan, Greene, Albany, Columbia, Delaware, Otsego, Rensselaer, and Schenectady counties in New York, Litchfield County in Connecticut, and Berkshire County in Massachusetts.
Torrential rainfall is possible during storm activity. Large hail of 1 inch in diameter or greater, damaging winds, and an isolated tornado or two are the main threats, said the National Weather Service, which issued the watch.
