Long Island Man Charged With DWI In Upstate Stop A Long Island man was arrested for alleged impaired driving in upstate New York over the weekend. Greenport resident Robert Newberry, 24, was stopped by New York State Police troopers from Kinderhook on Sunday, Oct. 20, for a vehicle and traffic law violation on Route 9H in Kinderhook in Columbia County. During the traffic stop, the investigation determined that Newberry was allegedly intoxicated and he was arrested. Following his processing, Newberry was released and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date to respond to the charge. No return court date has been announced.
