Man Struck, Killed While Changing Tire On LI Expressway A 52-year-old man was killed while changing a tire on the Long Island Expressway. The crash was discovered around 12 a.m., Monday, July 26, when New York City Police responded to a 911 call of a male struck by a vehicle at Horace Harding Expressway and Main Street in Queens.  Officers who arrived at the scene found the man on the westbound Long Island Expressway, before the College Point Boulevard exit, said the NYPD. Nassau Woman Charged In Hit-Run Death Of Nypd Cop From Long Island Faces 13 Counts A Nassau County woman is facing 13 charges, after allegedly hitting and killing an NYPD officer who lived in Suffolk County while driving drunk on the Long Island Expressway. Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz said on Tuesday, April 27 that Jessica Beauvais, age 32, of Hempstead, had been charged with aggravated manslaughter and two counts of vehicular manslaughter, and other crimes in connection with the death of Officer Anastasios Tsakos, age 43, of East Northport.
