The incident took place in Holtsville around 5:50 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 13. According to the Suffolk County Police, Officers Frederick Reed and Stacey Byrnes along with the Holbrook Fire Department provided life-saving aid to a woman in medical distress in Holbrook. Reed and Byrnes responded to a 911 call from a 60-year-old woman suffering from cardiac arrest at her residence on Mews Court, police said. Emergency crews were called to a home in Suffolk County on Church Street in Holbrook Friday, May 13, with reports that an 81-year-old man had suffered cardiac arrest. When officers arrived, they found the man unresponsive and without a pulse, police said. That's when Fifth Precinct officers Marcin Pawezka and Nicholas Vezzi began administering CPR and used an automated external defibrillator (AED). Long Island Man Seriously Injured After Falling Off ATV, Police Say A Long Island man was seriously injured after he fell off an ATV, according to police. Joseph DeMarie, 45, was operating a Yamaha ATV without a helmet on Glen Summer Road in Holbrook when he apparently lost control of the vehicle and fell to the ground at approximately 11:45 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, Suffolk County Police said. DeMarie, of Holbrook, was transported via Holbrook Fire Department ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious injuries.
